Problems without solutions
There are many really old problems without solutions. Some of these problems have been solved. Does anybody want to put the solutions up? |

Re: Problems without solutions
We did have a project a few years ago where on the initiative of one of the Scholars (no longer has a continuing presence here) we set about checking on many. Quite a few were resolved, some left to members who still had a presence though it may have been a little spasmodic, and some were left because we couldn't decide if they had been solved to the author's satisfaction.
And yes, there are a few of us, I admit to being one, who have some solutions to address. |

Re: Problems without solutions
If you have specific problems, those can be looked at specifically. In general though most of the solution queue has been left alone.
Most of the problems at the top have been left unsolved for whatever reason. Several of my problems feel unsolved, and in fact they were pushed without a known solution because they were still interesting. |

Re: Problems without solutions
Some of mine are unsolved. Some I don't actually know if they have been solved. Some I just haven't gotten around to.
K Sengupta seems to have gone through a lot of old problems and posted his solution, in some cases these can stand in for 'official' ones.
We did have a go many years back at pushing official solutions. Maybe a dozen of us worked on it. In the end the project was never completed.
Basically, don't let it bother you. :) |
