Comments Editor for Problems

While typing comments for a problem hitting the Enter Key does not take me to the next line, but to the line after the next line.

Does anybody know how to get to the next line?

Re: Comments Editor for Problems

I just selected "Post a comment" as a test. I typed two or three words and hit enter. I was taken to the next line. Hitting it again set up the expected paragraph break.

Could you be suffering a registry corruption, or some malware interference? Try running any security programs that you have installed (maybe even defrag).

What you describe does not happen with me. Sorry I cannot be of better assistance.

Re: Comments Editor for Problems

Hitting the Enter Key will add the paragraph start and end tags causing the appearance of an additional line. (It really isn't an additional line but additional spacing/pixel count as the line height for a line defined by a paragraph break is greater than the default line height.)
Pressing down the Shift key when hitting Enter will generate the line break tag instead, leaving the default line height defined for the line.

Re: Comments Editor for Problems

I was using Internet Explorer when the problem occurred,
when I switched to Firefox there was no problem.

Thanks for your comments.

Re: Comments Editor for Problems

So you're saying that in Firefox there's no way to distinguish paragraph breaks from line breaks? ... or only line breaks are created?

Re: Comments Editor for Problems

BTW, for a similar reason, having to do with comment entry line breaks, I do use IE for this site. When copying a table, single spaced, from a document in a text editor, when using other browsers than IE, they come out with double spacing (paragraph breaks).
