Markov chain
Hi every boby
i have a problem , th following
A coin is tossed repeatedly until either two seccessive heads appear or
three successive tails appear. Model this is a Markov Chain. Determine the
probability that the game ends with three tails in a row. What is the
average time until absorbtion? You should use the linear algebra approach
to find exact answers to the question and perform Monte Carlo simulations
to check your answer. |

Re: Markov chain
After you have rated a problem that's on the site, and entered three comments on existing problems, you will be given the rank of Student (the next day after completing these simple steps). At that time, you will be given a place on your home screen to click to submit puzzles. As the FAQs for the site state, puzzles should not be submitted here in the Forums. That way, we get to have the puzzle in a standard form for viewing by all. |

Re: Markov chain
This sounds as standard homework... |

Re: Markov chain
I've seen this problem before somewhere.
Encloymisseur, Try doing a search here in perplexus, and if that doesn't turn anything up, look elsewhere.
I agree with Oskar, this sounds like homework (or worse, a take-home test). |
