Puzzles solvers are wiser-further debate
Despite Perplexus.info does not recognise puzzles solvers have intellectual minds, I fully recognise their intellectual minds with the following reasons:
Firstly, as I have computed previously that only 1% to 4% of the people have provided a solution to a puzzle accurately, this proves that not many people could solve puzzles easily and that proves that the puzzles solvers are wiser than normal people.
Secondly, puzzles are created by people with tricky questions and they are not easily to be handled by any people. For instance, if one insists that puzzles could be solved by any people, there could never be so-called, toughest puzzles. For instance, if puzzles are not from the intellectual minds of people, they could be solved by anyone. As not many people could solve puzzles, should we not consider those puzzles solvers are wiser than normal people? |

Puzzles solvers are wiser-further debate
If any puzzles contributors argue that puzzles solvers do not have intellectual mind, should I ask them that whether their puzzles are sub-standard and the puzzles that are not set intellectually. If they argue that their puzzles are set intellectually, those puzzles solvers that could solve their puzzles must be intellectually wiser.
I then ask you another question. Mensa is an organisation that sets puzzles to determine the IQ of any person. Those people that could solve the puzzles that are set by them are to be classified to be the members of their organisation. Again puzzles have been used to determine the IQ of any person. Those puzzles solvers that could solve all the puzzles have been credited to be the members of their organisation. Nevertheless, puzzles have been used to determine the IQ of a person.
I was a member of Mensa Singapore. I stopped the membership now due to a certain reason. However, I only want to cite those puzzles solvers other than me. |

I speak for those puzzles solvers other than me and I cite them with my reasonings (to be dedicated to all the puzzles solvers here):
Unless all the puzzles creators do not create puzzles with intellectual minds and all their puzzles are sub-standard that anybody could solve, we then could treat those puzzles to be childish and meaningless and without logic. Those people could solve puzzles could then be treated as nothing since anybody could solve it.
As the puzzles must have contained intellectual minds and logic, those puzzles solvers must have intellectual minds to solve the problem.
Nevertheless, puzzles solvers are to be credited with intellectual minds even though Perplexus.info does not mention it.

Puzzles solvers are wiser-further debate
My final advice to those people that claim that puzzles solvers are not smarter than anybody. They must attempt all the questions in this puzzles organisation correctly without failing so as to prove that all the puzzles are sub-standard and all of them could be solved by anybody with ease. If one fails one or more questions from all the puzzles in this puzzles organisation, it proves that puzzles need intellectual minds to tackle them. If one could give all the questions correctly without referring to the solutions, I then agree with you that all the puzzles solvers are not generally wise. This is due to everybody could tackle them with correct solutions with ease.
If a person could tackle with all the puzzles with ease and claim that puzzles solvers are not to be credited with intellectual minds, I would approach him to set the toughest puzzles for him so as to convince him that puzzles solvers are generally wise. If anyone could not pass the test that I set, he has to admit that puzzles solvers are generally wise.
Nevertheless, puzzles solvers are to be credited with their intellectual minds to handle puzzles that contain intellectual mind and logic.

Re: Puzzles solvers are wiser-further de
You call this a debate, but so far, you're the only one who has argued. Just for fun, maybe I should counter some of those ideas. :)
In regards to the calculations you made earlier, I think that not every error was accounted for. As Charlie said, some of those guest users are actually computer programs. Also, not everyone who solves a puzzle decides to post comments. I'm sure there are lots of people just too shy to say they know the answer. Most puzzle solvers prefer the quiet self-satisfaction of knowing they solved a puzzle, not the satisfaction of having posted it first.
I mainly disagree on the point that the best puzzles are the most difficult ones. Aren't the best puzzles the ones that bring the most satisfaction to the most people? A well designed puzzle can be solved by everyone, but makes the solver feel like he/she was the only one. Not surprisingly, the people around perplexus are very good at puzzles, so the puzzles here are also relatively difficult. Difficult puzzles are fun, but there can also be puzzles that are fun and easy as well. Difficult puzzles aren't necessarily good puzzles if they're boring. We call those puzzles Homework puzzles, because they feel more like boring schoolwork than a fun puzzle.
Lastly, I've never met anyone who claimed that puzzle solvers aren't smart. |
