Re: CRYPTOGRAPHY
Okay, I give up. Somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to follow Dustin's instructions in the Reference Forum post "linking" but can't seem to get it right. |

Re: CRYPTOGRAPHY
Cryptography
is typed:
< a href = \" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptography \" > Cryptography < /a >
Learning Cryptography
is typed:
< a href = \" http://www.ciphersbyritter.com/LEARNING.HTM \" > Learning Cryptography
And the forum will probably add a \ before the "s. Be sure to delete those, and the spaces. Hopefully, everything will turn out okay. |

Re: CRYPTOGRAPHY
Yes. Unfortunately we are unable to use HTML as it would normally be written on a Web page.
For security reasons certain elements of HTML are 'filtered' out. The "/" is one that causes difficulty. I think "\" is also another. The later is used in some high level programming as an 'escape' character; it tells the browser to take some action, eg, a Carriage Return [Enter] represented by "\r" could be voided - something like
, which is possibly incorrect, could substitute.
I normally do not play in thiis area, but my reading suggests that uncontrolled escape characters can allow hackers to forward damaging sequences to a vulnerable computer. We need to get levik to give us some consistency and a manner within which to deal with these matters; I do not castigate him for the difficulties that we are experiencing, he's begun this as a hobby alongside his business interests and appears to have lost some overall sight as to what elements are functioning within it. |
