Add Pictures/Images to your Posting

There is a process which allows you to add pictures (small, someone else will obviously give the pixel/byte size and format, which at last known were JPG or GIF format only).

Most members wanting to present an image use characters which they can type from their keyboard.

For those who understand anything of HTML, the director, Levik, has many of those tags down. Certain of the characters used in these do present problems in some forums, textboxes and other inputs here.

As we rank, we gain certain privileges. Yes, this author has to bend to what he can use in open cyberspace. For the smooth running of this site (Ooops! A bump1) - Bump! They happen!! - Levik has retained technical maintenance, but created a hierarchy to assist with the admin of this place.

That brings me back to posting a pic.
FAQ says to post (as in email) them to Levik at about the time that your puzzle is about to be ranked at about -10.

Keyboard pictures serve a very important means to bypass the ‘time zone', er.. work load ... of Levik.

They may be a poor substitute, but if they present a reasonable diagram, then that is fine.

Now,
We know that there are font characters available to us for borders, symbols, expressing aspects of other languages, etc. These are available to us in the form of “unicodes”.

These are discussed in a few places in some of our forums. At some time I expect that others will add those links to this thread while sharing thoughts about how we might use these to our best advantage.

Some of us have attempted ascii/keyboard drawings. Yes we can add “Pi” as a large font character, or Omega for Ohms.

There are pitfalls. There seems to be some incompatibility with how we use hexcodes/unicodes and HTML tags.

Browser developers have strayed from the protocol of the WWW org to market the ‘supremacy’ of their products. These factors also affect what we can satisfactorily display.

Unicodes might help tidy some of our presentations here. I’ve attempted this but fallen victim to quirks within the technologies involved; it’s hard to understand that someone who seems to be using the same technology as you is viewing your input as a distortion; browser settings admittedly can be a factor.

I’d like to explore the advantages and limitations of using such extensions on this site.
