Currently, reading and responding to a thread is a two-step process. You click on the thread, then if you want to respond to it, you click on a link which takes you to a text box. Problem is, you sometimes want to refer back to a previous post, which is no longer visible. Why not add a text box to the bottom of the thread view? It saves an extra step of indirection and also solves the problem of not being able to refer back to previous comments.
