Avatarivity
How long does it take for avatars to be accepted at avatarivity? Surely it can't take as long as puzzles do on Perplexus. I submitted an avatar over a month ago, hidden, but it hasn't appeared yet. |

Re: Avatarivity
The word is... the powers that be (at Avatarity) are looking for qualified help to speed things up over there. |

Re: Avatarivity
If they think they have a problem with speed, at least they don't have to limit the number of avatars accepted everyday. Or at least, I see no reason to do so. Perhaps if the avatar queue were as fast as the avatarivity chatterbox... I once posted this question in the chatterbox and it disappeared from "previous messages" within a day.
Well to test how long it takes for the avatar to go through, I remember submitting it 3-25.
I'm sort of relieved. I thought I had been waiting a month for nothing, like there was some problem with my computer and it didn't submit. Speaking of which, I finally finished eradicating that vexatious adware. That qualifies for a WOOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! |

Re: Avatarivity
What is avatarity's connection to Perplexus? Is it one of Levik's sites? And do their avatars work for all forums, or just P's?
I was just noticing that it said it was the "official avatar provider for perplexus" and thought it a little odd. |

Re: Avatarivity
tristan - it shouldnt take more than a couple of days to be accepted. When I originally submitted my avaters, I tried a sports logo as well as another version of the one i now use. The next day, the comic logo was accepted but I had no word on the sports logo, so I re-submitted it, along with the properly sized comic logo. Once again, the comic logo came back after a day (or maybe 2), but the spors logo still is in limbo. My best guess is that there is no notification about rejected logos (maybe they dont want certain copyrighted illustrations) or the rejection email was filtered out by me spam guard. If there's any reason to suspect that your avatar may have been rejected, try a more politically-correct and litigation-free one as a test. |

Re: Avatarivity
I don't really see why they might reject my avatar. It was just a snapshot of an AVS (advanced visualization studio... It's that thing that makes pictures that go with music.) that I wrote. I would have seen it if I had gotten a rejection e-mail, filtered or not.
I believe Avatarivity was created by Levik. It's main purpose is to provide avatars for Perplexus and also just for the taking of anyone who wants them, though I'm not sure which it was originally for. |

Re: Avatarivity
Allow me to field these questions...
Avatarity *is* another site of mine, which is why I made it the provider of avatars for Perplexus. It is possible to use these avatars on any other forum, but you would have to download them to some other hosting space first (doing it any other way would cost too much in bandwidth).
Avatars are taking a long time to get approved because the queue for Avatarity is currently about 3200 - and I don't have the benefit of a user-based approval system because every avatar needs to be categorized which involves creating brand new categories half the time.
If you wish to upload an avatar for the use on Perplexus, submit it to the category "People->Personal Avatars" as a private avatar, and then petition me here letting me know you've done so (include your Avatarity user name) - I will go and approve that avatar out of turn so you can use it on these forums. |
