Unsolved Problems

I note that as I submit this that there are some 127 problems as yet unsolved. The last in the list goes right back to Oct 2002.

I note that many also have very few comments (like 3 or 4).

I have two questions.
1. Are the problems that are appearing in the "BONUS" area only from problems that already have solutions?

2. If so, might it not be useful to have a similar area for "FROM UNSOLVED ARCHIVE"?

Categories for consideration might be:
a) A random selection from eg: the last 20 on the list
b) A selection from the last 2002, 2003, 2004 (such that the problems posted within the last (eg) 2 months are not included
c) A selection from cycling from oldest to newest (with the proviso mentioned directly above.

I wonder that these have lost focus by being "out of sight, out of mind". While it might bring such problems to the attention of new visitors, it might also prompt someone who has given thought to such problems in the past.

Re: Unsolved Problems

i was looking for an existing thread so as not to repeat stuff and i see that you mention a BONUS Area. Is there such a thing? Recently, I had begun working on a BONUS problem only to return to the site unable to find it again. I enter via dial-up so switching pages is a little time consuming; i might have missed it. Still, any info on this, since it sounds like you know about it, is appreciated.

Re: Unsolved Problems

"Bonus" problems are random problems that appear from the old problems on the site. It will change each time you load the page, but can be found if you know the name of the problem, words in it, or feel like looking through the catergories.
