HTML tags question
Are there some HTML tags that can be used when submitting a problem and not when commenting on a problem? I edited some HTML offline and did a cut and paste into a comment problem box - but no preview option. So I did a cut and paste with the same material into a submit problem box - preview looked great. Back to the comment problem box and submitted the material - HTML tags were not processed. |

Re: HTML tags question
The comment problem box uses a rich text editor, while the problem submission is just plain text (and allowed HTML tags are processed accordingly).
Your best bet is to just use the rich text editor when commenting on a problem, but if you are pasting in text that includes HTML tags, make sure the 'view source' box is checked. That will show you the 'background' HTML of any formatting in the comment, and allow you also to paste it in. Still, only certain tags are allowed, both for the comments and for submitted problems; any filtered tags will simply be stripped from your entry before it is posted.
Hope that helps. |

Re: HTML tags question
Thanks DJ. Do you know of any way to get a fixed width font in the rich text editor? |

Re: HTML tags question
Select the paragraph you want in fixed width (it has to be the whole paragraph, originally typed in starting and ending with an Enter--not a shift-Enter, that just causes a line break), and then activate the pull-down marked "Formatting>>", and click on "Pre-formatted". That paragraph will be in fixed width font. |
