Queue Rate
I see in the site FAQ the rate at which problems get posted (1-2 per day). However, does anybody have a rough estimate of the percentage of problems that get voted off the queue by scholars? 5%? 20%? 50%? That way us newer folks can have some idea of when our problems might appear on the site. |

Re: Queue Rate
David,
The percentage changes over time (particularly when an influx of similar problems by the same member comes through).
A better estimate of when the problems might appear on the site would be to look at the submission date of problems that are currently being reviewed.
Right now, the voting queue's problems have been submitted as recently as April 12th, 2004. So, I'd say we're about 5 months behind.
However, there was a high submission volume earlier this year. Since, relatively, there haven't been a lot of submissions in recent months, I would say a problem submitted today may take a little less, such as 4 months to be reviewed.
Also, to be clear: since the rate of going through the problems is dependent on the subjectivity of queue-voters in the future, there is no way to definitively predict the time.
Hope this helped,

Re: Queue Rate
Yes, that helps, although I am not sure how I would look at the submission date of problems that are currently being reviewed (besides those on my own personal queue).
I guess the system is good in that it keeps new users glued to the site for those months!
