Strange Thing
I have been following two of my pending problems. Yesterday they had queue positions 7 and 8 with 6 and 1 TU's respectively. Today the problem that was at queue position 8 was posted. Why not the problem with 6 TU's. |

Re: Strange Thing
I'm not sure because I'm new at this, but I think it might have to do with two things.
First, they try not to post a problem if that same author just had a problem posted recently (I don't know the criteria for recently). So if the next 1 or 2 in the queue were by a recently-posted author, they will look farther down the queue. That would explain why one of yours, that was lower than some other people's, got posted.
Second, I think they try to post easier problems in the morning and harder ones in the afternoon. If there were some easier problems above yours (I think your Electric Cube counts as an easier one) when they were ready to post an afternoon one, then they'll look farther down the queue.
Hope I was right and hope that helps =) |

Re: Strange Thing
It's a completely arbitrary thing. Puzzles are not published automatically, it takes a scholar to move them, and they can pick from the queue of 3+ TU however they see fit.
There seems to be a trend to pick puzzles at the top of the queue list (meaning they were submitted earlier) before picking those near the bottom of the list. |
