My own avatar

I'd like to create my own avatar (whatever that word means). I can prepare a graphic of the right size. How do I make it my avatar?

Re: My own avatar

Hopefully, you've seen avatarivity already.

You can create a login name for avatarivity and submit whatever picture you want, but if I recall, only sizes 64 x 64 and smaller are accepted for avatars on perplexus, and the picture must be in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.

I hear the queue on Avatarivity is very long, so if you want your picture to go through sometime before next year, you should petition Levik and submit to the "Personal avatars" category (in the larger category of "People"). That's what Levik said, I think. While you're at it, you probably want to make the availability private.

I'm afraid I can't really help you if you want an animated avatar. Maybe someone else could tell you about it if you asked.

When your avatar has been put on Avatarivity, you may go to your profile, click on "pick," and browse for your avatar. After that, you are done.

for moving avatars, use a program called "Easy GIF Animator", it's available on the web, but i'm sorry i can't remember the address.

Re: My own avatar

I made my own! :) (I didn't steal it from some other person with the same name as me in case you were wondering.)

I saw a way to do it with Adobe Photoshop but I don't remember how.

Re: My own avatar

I found an avatar on avatarity I liked, but it was too big. Once I used the feature to resize it to 64x64, there was no longer a way I could find to bring it here. Did I miss something?

(I settled for second best, which IS green :D, but I'd still like to make my coffee statement.)

Re: My own avatar

So you really are a juggler Juggler! I love the avatar but have a love hate relationship with the pattern. Do your balls follow the paths like in the gif? I tend to throw a column on the under arm throw, do you think this is a problem?

Re: My own avatar

Percy, the balls do follow this pattern, but it becomes clearer if you look for a java file on the internet, this one is particularly good

and yeah, the column on the underarm throw is right, i've not seen it done any other way, not even by michel hesling.
