Nishant - Attaching Files

Nishant asked in the Chatterbox:

"Is there some option of attaching any sort of files like figures to the solutions that we post just to make our view and insight clear enough to others?"

I have posted this here that we might address that issue without cluttering the CB.

Re: Nishant - Attaching Files

My first thought is that when preparing the text for the problem the solution addresses the problem from the outset.

We know that cannot always happen. Some of us recognise that some of our solvers/respondents offer insights that we may not have considered and these can be referenced before the final solution is published.

Then too, there may be a problem that is already on site with some element that is worth noting; usually when posting a problem one will see a link of some kind to such a situation.

In some instances off-site references are used. We do not particularly like these as certain of these are prone to change. Wikipedia is oft referenced. That is not a big issue unless the administrator of that site does something drastic.

Prior to the posting of a solution the author has the opportunity to engage with respondents in our quasi-chatroom response situation.

Sometimes one will see an "ascii"/keyboard diagram posted in the author's "official" solution. I am unaware of a jpg/gif file being part of a solution; it might be possible by using petition director to have such an item included before the solution is posted; haven't seen it, it would mean a personal submission to Levik.

Please ask questions about this. Others may have intervened with advice beforehand. Trust this helps.
