Re: end of the universe ?

No-one's ever travelled that far therefore it remains a mystery. In my opinion, it'll never end and keep on going and going and going. You know, there actually could be other planets as cicilised as ours out there...we'll never find out.

Re: end of the universe ?

As said before, the end of the universe is just past the restaurant at the end of the universe.

Re: end of the universe ?

lol......well it depends in the "elastic theory" the universe will expand and then snap back to a point of absolte zero and then expand all over again

Re: end of the universe ?

The way I understand it, when it snaps back to a point the laws of physics as we know them fail and so afterwards (ok, so time may have stopped functioning) anything could happen...

Another theory, alluded to by DA suggests that the Universe will end when an interdimensional being snorts it up through a rolled up zillion credit note...

Of course the universe ends with an e (but the party's just starting)

Re: end of the universe ?

Jeffrey, I note that some of you threads that may not be getting replies are within the New Users forum.

You would probably get more chance of a response in General.
And, you have expressed some concerns about the level to which the thinking around here gets. Worry not. The range of membership is vast, from Engineers, Uni students, to college students like you.

Stick with it, follow the arguements and you'll learn something.
