submitted my first problem and
I'm confused as to wether pending probs are those that have already bn voted on, or all submitted probs. Can anyone give me an idea of how many probs are awaiting voting? Also I wander about originality of probs, the one I submitted I created. Are other probs wanted? If so I think credit should be given to the creator but I have never seen anything like this? |

Re: submitted my first problem and
When you see link that says "_ problem pending" that just means that you have however many problems in the queue. The queue currently has 401 problems pending total. The 10 problems at the front of the queue can be viewed and voted on by members ranked journeymen or higher. The voters will help you with editing, and give suggestions. If your problem receives a vote of +3 or higher, it will be posted within a few days. If it receives a vote of -3 or below, it may be deleted, and you will receive an e-mail explaining why.
Since 12 problems are posted in a week, it might seem you will be able to calculate how long you will have to wait, but it's not that easy. The queue is designed so that people with more problems in the queue will have to wait longer. The current wait is 2 and a half months. Also because of the way the queue is designed, the "approximate queue position" is not a very accurate reflection of the wait time length.
We want all kinds of problems, original and non-original. This site collects a wide variety of puzzles. Some types fare better than others, though, and you may look around to see which types the voters seem to like the most. Lateral thinking puzzles are generally not accepted. We favor neither original nor non-original. If a problem is non-original, it is a good idea to give credit, but remember that many of these puzzles are passed around like jokes. There's an excellent chance that your source took the puzzle from somewhere else too. |

Re: submitted my first problem and
Thanx a lot for that Tristan. Another question occurs, will I be notified if my problem is about to go online? |

Re: submitted my first problem and
For the first question, unfortunately no. You may check the approximate queue position, but the number will move slower than you think. When it gets to the top ten, you will see comments from the voters, and it will probably stay there for about a week, after which it should be posted. If the voters feel it necessary, they will try to contact you while it's in the voting stage, but this doesn't happen often.
You can't add images yourself. You have to e-mail Levik the picture, and you should probably send a petition at the same time. You can probably find his address here. Make sure the rest of your problem is ready, since I think editing it disables the picture coding, though that's nothing a scholar can't fix. |

Re: submitted my first problem and
Thanx again Tristan. I imagine creating puzzles is even more satisfying than solving them, I'll get on it. |
