Need help
If I remember properly I'm not allowed to post problems in the forums, but I'm desperate! (Well, almost, anyway) I've been trying this for a week and can't do it. And I need to have it by Tuesday.
5, root from 34 and root from 41 are the surface diagonals of a ...(insert the Enlish name for "3D figure with only right angles and different dimensions(I'm from Romania)) What's the figure's volume?
any ideas?
I of course immediately came upon 3*4*5=60, but that was made just by trying and I don't know how to prove it. |

Re: Need help
Well, ur right, there are absolutely no problems allowed in the forums. However seeing as ur desperate I will help. The word is cuboid, not to be confused with the outermost of the distal row of tarsal bones of the foot that supports the fourth and fifth metatarsals. It is also a special case of the parallelepiped which is one of my favorite words, ranking along side oojakapivvy, pimpmobile and of corse ooloopooloo. |

Re: Need help
I think he wants the word "Rectangular prism", a figure with rectangles for sides (a cube except different lengths)
If you don't have to prove its uniqueness, then use a system of equations. You know the sums of 3 taken 2 at a time, and now it looks like an easier version of like Pumpkins. |
