hello just found this place a few days ago.

Hi tanx, goodluck with that text formatting, I'm not the best one to explain such things tho. I lost a square patch of skin around here somewhere, anyone seen it? |

Er ... And I think that I'm going to run into trouble here!! But I'll press on.
Basically use for new paragraph,
for a new line.
you can set italics with but you must remember to turn them off with .
You can do the same with - turn it off with .
For anything else might I suggest that you google "HTML tutorials" and one of those will help. [www.w3.org might be a start but it is not easy to navigate] |

Yesss ... I got into trouble!
I used the HTML tags and it did what I expected - created what you probably wanted though.
Try again --
< p > new paragraph
< br > new line
< i > set italics < / i > turn them off
< b > bold text < / b > turn it off.
Read the previous comment in conjuction with this [Note: I have used spaces here in my tags but that is not necessary] |

If you want to make properly spaced text, use < pre > and < / pre >
If you don't understand, just submit it anyway with spaces where you would like them to be in the submit box and leave a note in the problem; scholars can easily fix that for you. |

i tried <pre> and </pre> but when i try and preview it the ending tag turns into a beginning tag as if the / gets stripped. |

I believe that the pre tags for some reason or other are disabled for lower ranking members. Don't worry. Whatever the problem is, the voters will be able to fix it when we get to it. |

i left a note in the solution as to why i wanted to use pre tags.
i have submitted two so far and keep trying to think of more if i can quit trying to solve all the other ones. the concept of this site is really cool and i like how it is set up to be driven by the users yet still remain fairly credible and clean. |

lol i think the site design could use an overhaul as well
but what i meant by clean was the perplexus problems that actually get posted aren't full of garbage links to http://go.to.my.pyramid.scheme.com like other open community forums |
