Looking for a special riddle
I'm in search for a special riddle. I heard it years ago but I can't remember where I heard it. It goes something like what starts out on 4, goes to 2 and ends with three or something like that. It was in a story about men wanting to win the hand of a princess. If they answered the riddle correctly, they won her hand, but if they didn't, they would die. I'd really love to know if there is anyone in here that could help me. I can be emailed at lindapeaveler@hotmail.com. Thank you for your help!!!!!!! |

Re: Looking for a special riddle
Linda,
Have sent you a response.
Not sure if it helps, but it's the best that I can recall. |

Very old
This was the riddle that the Sphinx proposed to everybody who wanted to go to Thebes; Oedipus solved it, and the Sphinx killed itself.
"What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?"

Re: Looking for a special riddle
It may have been helpful to have answered Linda here. I had sent her an email identifying the Riddle of the Sphinx hours before brianjn posted. I did wish to know if, perhaps, it was not the Sphinx's riddle she sought, but about a riddle that was needed solved in order for a suitor to win the hand of a princess. This riddle is one I am unaware of. |

Re: Looking for a special riddle
I agree with the sphinx Idea I have it memorized but I have to say that the answer is quiet simple.(A human crawls in it's young years, walks during the middle of it's life, and use a cane in old age.) |
