What does "rate this problem" mean?

When it says "rate this problem" and gives choices from 1 to 5, does it mean:

1. rate how well-written the problem is; 1 = excellent, 5 = poor; or
2. rate how well-written the problem is; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent; or
3. rate how difficult the problem is to solve; 1 = easy, 5 = very hard; or
4. rate how difficult the problem is to solve; 1 = very hard, 5 = difficult; or
5. other: _____________________________________

?

I need to know quickly so I can rate a problem and get out of Novice rank
and start posting problems!

Thanks!

Re: What does

In the window that a problem appears you will see at the lower right of that box:

Submitted by (UserName)
Below it is: Rate this problem 1|2|3|4|5
You choose one of those numbers to match what you think of the problem; what is the criterion? That's pretty much up to you, for me it would be how it appeals to me in terms of being a challenge.

Obviously I'm not going to rate something that I don't understand.

What else does it mean? I guess it gives you an idea of what you think is worthy for being posted on Perplexus since, should you make Journeyman (JM), then that will be part of how you will be assessing problems which we allow to be published.

Hope that helps you Student.

Catherine
Rate using whatever criteria you see fit. 1 is low; 3 average; 5 high.
Most people seem to rate on how interesting the problem is rather tha difficulty solving.

Re: What does

A rating of 5 is better than a rating of 1. I generally rate it as far as how interesting the problem is.
