Argentine, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Equator competed at the Olympic Games, placing first through fifth in an event. They said:
Argentine: "I was not last."
Brazil: "Canada got the bronze."
Canada: "Argentine ended behind Equator."
Dominican Republic: "Equator got silver."
Equator: "Dominican Republic didn't get gold."
The gold and silver winners lied, but the other three told the truth. How did the event end?
A could not be in 1 or 2 and lie about being not-5; therefore is 3 or 4 and T= -5.
If DR were True re E getting silver(2), E lies and DR got gold, making DR a liar; therefore DR is 2 (silver) and a liar, and E tels True (is 3,4 or 5).
If Canada got the Bronze (3), then there's no one who could take the Gold liar's spot, therefore Brazil is the Golden Liar (1) and Canada did not come in 3rd for the Bronze.
Canada is one of the trailing truth-tellers, placing E in 3rd, A in 4th and C 5th:
1 (Gold) Brazil - F
2 (Silver) Dominican Republic - F
3 (Bronze) Equator - T
4 Argentine - T
5 Canada - T
fun, thank you! (first puzzle, first time on the board)
