Sequence of Musical Tones (Posted on 2004-12-14) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Music on the planet Alpha Lyra IV consists of only two notes, called A and B. Also, songs never include three consecutive repetitions of any sequence nor does BB ever occur. A sequence of notes can have 1 or more notes in it.

What is the longest song on Alpha Lyra IV?

You're right -- I noticed the contradiction while I was posting. Still, I thought it interesting, and something for someone else to try out.

Still, we haven't proven why 16 is the minimum, except by exhaustion. Can someone provide a more analytical approach?
