‘,.pyf versus h.soav (Posted on 2005-01-21) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Can you decipher the following messages? They don't necessarily use the same coding pattern.

1) irrew frg xprt. mf ucpoy jre.
2) uodakw tsf ioaivdh mt skjdo ishd

Once you’ve deciphered them, can you figure out the complete coding patterns? What is going on here? Can you now encode the following words using the corresponding coding patterns?

1) wax
2) zip

Some Thoughts re: A handicap (spoilers) | Comment 12 of 14 |
(In reply to A handicap by Hugo)

Actually, I can touchtype both Dvorak and qwerty.  When I was learning, I used only Dvorak in irc, and qwerty in all of my other programs (so I used them about evenly).  I always used to type a line of gibberish before I caught myself.  Now that I completely switched to Dvorak, I have trouble touchtyping qwerty at home, but I am fine using it on any other computer.  Strangely enough, when I type in Japanese at home (using basically a qwerty keyboard layout), I have no problem.
