A classic game (Posted on 2005-06-22) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Substitute digits for letters (different letters, different digits; same letters, same digits) so ALPHABET + LETTERS = SCRABBLE. No number begins with zero.

Can you manage without a computer program?

Some Thoughts re: Since I donīt have a computer... -- WRONG | Comment 6 of 10 |
(In reply to Since I donīt have a computer... by pcbouhid)

You say "Since B+E=B, E could only be zero" but that's wrong -- E could be a 9, and you could carry one from the previous column. You got a solution, but unless you prove that E=9 doesn't lead to an answer, your conclusions aren't right.
