When my uncle died his integral age was one twenty-ninth the year he died. How old was he when he first saw me, in 1976?
I append hereunder, some hints for solving the problem.
(i) Both the birth year (B) and the year of demise (D) are in four digit (YYYY) format.
(ii) Considering all the possible cases, by way of reasoning ( in terms of a vital clue in the problem), only one value is feasible for D and B can easily be obtained from conditions of the problem.
(iii) The required age of the uncle is then (1976 – B).
