I am taken from the world to give judgment.
I could be the devil with the power of the fool.
Together with the traitor we are death;
A difference to he and she who rule.
Before the sign of the unknown,
Mine own in front of the old man is found.
As you see, to some I am I,
But to others I am he who will confound.

Who or what am I?

I am taken from the world to give judgement.
    Some say when children die it is god passing judgement
I could be the devil with the power of the fool.
    Kids can be devillish, but are really only fools
Together with the traitor we are death;
    I don't really get this line, but lots of traitors cause death
A difference to he and she who rule.
    To a child, the parents rule, and to the parents, the child is     definitely a difference
Before the sign of the unknown,
    the future is unknown, youth is before the future
Mine own in front of the old man is found.
    my own youth comes before I am an old man (or woman)
As you see to some I am I,
    some are youth, and so it is them
But to others I am he who will confound.
    and to everyone else, youth is confusing

Who or what am I?
    Youth
