Good find (I think!) Would you mind elaborating a bit more on the reasoning behind these solutions, particularly #2 and #3?

What I mean is, what is the pattern of missing segments that generates the output described in the puzzle from the sequences you give?

As I interpret it, the puzzle asks for what's next in the sequence from the viewer's perspective (who sees the missing segments), rather than the machine that is generating the numbers (which doesn't see the missing segments). As well as describing the machine sequence, can you also describe how these numbers would appear to the viewer, given whatever pattern of missing segments you have used in your solution?
