Each intersection of this hexagonal star is the location of a unique letter none of which is an "A". A "W" is already placed as a starter.
Each line is a common English four letter word when read from at least one direction.

What solutions can you offer?
An afterthought:Using unique letters, but with access to all vowels, what other solutions are available?

It is true there are not many English words of the form _WU_, _UW_, _IW_, _WO_, or _WE_, especially with the absence of the A. Yet, there does exist some words that can be used:
- SWUM - [past participle] swim
- SWOB - [variant of swab] mop
- SWOP - [variant of swap] equal exchange
- SWOT - [variant of swat] study very hard
- TWOC - [variant of twock] to steal a car for joyriding
- TWOS - [plural of two] being one more than one
- OWED - [past tense] owe
- OWES - [present tense of 3rd person singular] owe
In addition, also not of either the pattern _OW_, _EW_ and _WI_, or _WU_, _UW_, _IW_, _WO_, or _WE_, are the following:
- CWMS - [plural of cwm] a steep-walled valley
- HWYL - good spirit or enthusiasm
- OWLS - [plural of owl] a nocturnal-hunting bird
- OWNS - [present tense of 3rd person singular] own
