Additional solutions are nearly evident. For example, in the first crossword in this post, the P and MAP could be swapped with the C in CATS giving MAC [a diminutive for Macintosh, a raincoat (in Britain)] and PATS. In the second crossword the J in JAMS could be swapped for the C in CAR giving CAMS (a diminutive for camera, as well as a rotating or sliding part of a mechanical linkage) and JAR.
