Given two ditinct alphametics:
i.
test+test=debug and
ii.
test*test=verified
I ask:
@ i: What's so special about dbstue ?
@ ii: When did you lately eat 38649 4110?

Ady,
Not because B=4 in the first equation, as the two alphametics are given to be distinct. For instances, between the two equations D=1 & 9, E=4 & 7, S=0 & 2, T=7 & 9. The actual reason is because of those words of the form E??S where ? represents the same letter, only those I listed did not use the alphametic digits already defined by the alphametic multiplication solution and still formed recognizable words (thus, the omission of EDDS, EFFS, and ERRS).
