A Man Without Eyes (Posted on 2005-05-10) |
|
A man without eyes saw plums on a tree.
He did not leave plums on the tree, yet he did not take plums either.
How can this be?

The solution lies in the use of plural nouns.
He did not have "eyes", he had one eye. He saw two plums on the tree, and took one. In other words, he did not take "plums", and did not leave "plums".
I don't remember where I heard this. |
