Word Grid (Posted on 2016-02-04) Difficulty: 1 of 5
Continue the sequence into the rightmost grid. The eight letters that will then be found there, will, when taken in the sequence found, form an 8-letter word. What is it?

You are correct that sequence is not the right word. The word should be sequences or some similar word that expresses, or properly hints at the idea that the pairs of letters in the four grids (once the rightmost grid is filled with four pairs of letters) will form four separate words. Perhaps, the word pattern can work.
