Getting closer to your pie (Posted on 2017-09-04) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Approximate pi (=3.1415926535..) using three decimal (not necessarily distinct) digits.

2 remarks:
a. Only standard algebraic operators and symbols allowed, i.e. no "!", "log", "sqrt" etc
b. Stay within the .3% error margin.
c. What accuracy of approximation is possible if a. were waived i.e. "All (except "pi") standard algebraic operators and symbols allowed,e.g. "!", "log", "sqrt", "phi", "e" etc?
