The corrected message

m*4*8**41*1*n in a noisy c**848*1a

can be easily guessed without solving the alphametic.

It seems to be "a MATHEMATICIAN in a noisy CAFETERIA"

I checked this against Charlie's alphametic solution, and it is consistent.

4 = T
8 = E
1 = I
