Given that:
  • ABC is an isosceles triangle in which
        AB = AC
  • The lengths of the following segmets are equal:
        AD
        DE
        EC
        BC
    Find the measure of angle A.

    1 is as good a value as any. The lengths are totally irrelevant, so assuming 1 for an example case just simplifies the maths.
    As for it being a geometry problem - maybe so, but I solved it my way and found the answer - feel free to post a shorter solution if you know it. Personally I feel no need to look for one now as I've already solved the problem.
