When Ken was half as old as Kate,
His cousin Jean was 38.
When Kate was half as old as Jean,
Then Ken himself was 17.
Their ages total 1,1,3 -
So what must those 3 ages be?

Following up on Charlie's suspicion that 1,1,3 might be other than 113, I looked at 11^3, giving the solution Ken=431, Kate=438, Jean=462 with intervals 424 and 414 and suggesting they were trees or perhaps Biblical patriarchs.
