You must not be interpreting that sentence the same way as I do. I interpret it the same as Jer's "In Roman numerals, it is XXXVIII which would make it last if you put them all in alphabetical order." XXXVIII is one Roman numeral, not seven Roman numerals. It is alphabetically after, say MCMXLIV, or any other roman numeral, and is therefore the last alphabetically.
