Design a schedule for a 10-week season involving 8 teams playing one game a week, on Sunday. The teams are divided into two divisions, east and west.

Each team plays the teams in its division twice, home and away.
Each team plays the teams in the other division once.
Each team plays 5 home games and 5 away games.
No team ever has 3 home games in a row, or 3 away games in a row

Solution Dumb Schedule | Comment 1 of 3
This seems pretty easy.  Many schedules are possible.  Here is one:

Weeks 1-6 are division games.  The matchups in week 1 and 2 are the same, with home and away reversed.  Same for weeks 3 and 4, and for weeks 5 and 6.  Weeks 7 through 10 are games with the other division, with East teams playing at away on weeks 7 and 9 and home on weeks 8 and 10.

For instance, the first team in the eastern division (E1) might playing the following games (in order)

E2 home
E2 away
E3 away
E3 home
E4 home
E4 away
W1 away
W2 home
W3 away
W4 home

Of course, the TV networks would hate this schedule
