In poker, suppose you’re dealt a pair.

Is the probability that your opponent also holds a pair higher, lower, or the same as it would be if you held nothing?

If I have a pair then the probability my opponent has a pair is (2*1 + 48*3)/(50*49) = 73/1225.

If I do not have a pair then the probability my opponent has a pair is (6*2 + 44*3)/(50*49) = 72/1225.

Then the probability my opponent holds a pair is higher when I hold a pair verses when I do not hold a pair.
