A pronounced day (Posted on 2003-12-25) Difficulty: 2 of 5
An American man and his wife are discussing a question of pronunciation.

"I was talking with my co-worker one day, and when he pronounced twosome he prounced it like chuesome. I always thought it had just a straight t sound. What do you think?" he asked.
"I think it sounds fine either way."
"Well then how would you say some words, like the second day of the week? Would you replace the first letter with a ch sound?"

How would the wife most likely answer?

(In reply to A Pronounced Day by Mary Buckingham)

how the wife would correctly answer is not necessarily how she would most likely answer. if the wife mistakes the 2nd day of the week for tuesday, the intent of the trick, then she would most likely answer 'tuesday' or 'chuesday'.
