I die half my life and live the rest.
I dance without music and breathe without breath.

What am I ?

Fireworks... When you light up a firework, it drains the powder in it to produce colors.  This powder is only placed in the other half of the firework which is half its life.  The powder decreases until it dies half its original length.  It lives half its life because it wont burn anymore.  When it goes up the air, its like dancing and it produces a hissing sound like breathing or whistleing.  ...[[[[[[>
