Riddle of Scorn (Posted on 2004-06-01) Difficulty: 1 of 5
Thousands of us all around you.
We protect you all the time,
Yet you treat us badly...

You burn us in public buildings
to make you seem better;

You try to make us straight,
but most of us refuse usually;

When we are dead, you are pleased.
Yet, when we are gone, you are sad.

What are we?

the answer? | Comment 50 of 68 |
I think the answer is hair. There is hair all around you.. on your head on your legs on your arms. Burning them in public buildings is probably a reference to a barber shop where it's like burning calories: You don't set it on fire but you lose them. I don't understand when we are dead you are please but when you have a lack of hair you are sad because you are bald and are self conscience. Hope I'm right...
