A flat ball? (Posted on 2004-04-08) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Soccer balls are usually covered with a design based on regular pentagons and hexagons.

How many pentagons/hexagons MUST there be, and why?

Johnson solids | Comment 20 of 25 |
Although it is true that there is no hexagon and pentagon Johnson solid, this doesn't rule out the possibility of a non-convex shape.

Not that it would make a very good soccer ball.
