Well, I suppose that depends on where the dot is.
If, say, the dot marked the spot where someone had been stabbed while sleeping, perhaps they were
impaled in a cot?
Or, suppose you were playing monopoly and you needed snake eyes ... then the dot in question could be
a compliant die, or (plurality errors aside)
an optimal dice.
If the dot represented, say, your road trip destination, it could be a
map detail icon, but if it were elsewhere, it probably has
no ideal impact. If it were your starting point, though, your dot could be saying, "
I'm capital node," or the origin of your travels. Or, if it located such picturesque areas as inspired the great writers, the dot could say, "
I am poetic land." Of course, that is
a pointed claim.
Or, perhaps, the dot is the point on end of a pitchfork - truly,
a demonical tip. Of course, given the right mood, it could be
a nice, modal tip.
Maybe, looking in the mirror before a big date, you would see a dot and say, "
Action! A dimple!" Then you remember that dimples are good, and you only need to worry about pimples and the like. Your distaste for dimples is not a very
compliant idea.
If, though, the dot were drawn on a piece of paper, say between a 3 and some digits like 14159 .. it would be a
pi declamation. In an integer like "24." it is just the
tip on a decimal. In the wrong place, though (say, 23.456.03) it could bring
pain to decimal. In all of these latter cases, I suppose, it is still just
a decimal point.
