Each of the ten five-letter words listed below is encrypted with the same substitution code. Following each encrypted word is a clue telling what one of the letters of the word is. What are the ten words?

DVXFM - one letter is R
XBBVJ - one letter is L
JMXFW - one letter is N
DFXBM - one letter is P
BXBMF - one letter is A
BXWMV - one letter is E
QVXWD - one letter is G
HFXWM - one letter is C
HVXQB - one letter is S
BMWWJ - one letter is Y

Not at all I do feel, however, that the problem can be solved by using the hints, and no computer or cryptographical tools at all.
