Word Meld and Weld (Posted on 2004-12-06) Difficulty: 2 of 5

Word meld and weld is slightly different from previous puzzles of this nature.
In this puzzle you have to get from the word SISTER to the word BROTHER.
The rules are simple, either change a letter, add a letter or remove a letter.
The only proviso is that each word created must be a genuine English word.

Here are some more to try

BLACK
:
:
WHITE

NIGHT
:
:
DAY

HUNGRY
:
:
THIRSTY

Can you find any other such word meld/welds that go from one word to its opposite?

You're seeing "adhd" right in front of you ? Maybe it's just in your mind. (Just kidding.)

I deliberately avoided acronyms like "espn" and "nwa" ("norwegians with attitudes"), which are not words in the strictest sense. None of my words are acronyms, nor are they made up words. But if that's not good enough, if you and Eric prefer to get from HUNGRY to THIRSTY using words like "cat" and "house", go for it.
