Find the sum of the sequence: x, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, ... , nxn.

Let f(x)= 1+x+...+x^n=(x^(n+1)-1)/(x-1).  Then the sum sought is xf'(x)=x(nx^(n+1)-(n+1)x^n+1)/(x-1)^2. For example, 2+2*2^2+3*2^3+4*2^4=2+8+24+64+98 while 2*(4*2^5-5*2^4+1)/1=2*(128-80+1)=2*49=98.
