When I read this problem I had an idea about what the sequence was about - what the connection was.  Since Hugo's solution was posted by the time I saw it, I thought "Well, I'll take a peek and see if my connection was right, and then I'll see if I can figure out the actual meanings of the numbers."

Turns out I was way off.  I thought the title "Five Gold Rings" and the fact that there were 12 sets of numbers had to do with the 12 days of Christmas song (Fiiiiiiiive golden rings!).

There's not point to this post... maybe i'm wondering if anyone else thought this too, but i'm not expecting a response =)
