One Word, Seven Times (Posted on 2005-01-27) Difficulty: 5 of 5
"Dog dog dog dog dog dog dog."

While dog-lovers rejoice at the above statement, grammarians hang their heads in shame, as the statement is not a grammatically correct sentence.

Replace "dog" with a word that will satisfy the grammarians. You may not add any additional words or punctuation.

Yes, the real answer is more elegant.  The puzzle is not in the "Tricks" category for a reason.  Also, it has a difficulty rating of 5 for a reason.

I could come up with specific rules to prohibit solutions like this one, but hopefully a little common sense should help.  Obviously, no proper nouns, as the ability to make up proper nouns like "Races races races races" makes the problem rather trivial.
