Wow Tristan,

It only took what, about 5 months.  I originally wondered if this problem was related to a HS course.  I thought that knowing what course would really help.  I think that Larry's answer is probably the one originally sought.  I'm trying to figure out what direction you took on this. 

I doubt I'm up to the task, but the apparent clues are "Related Numbers" and "most elagant".  No luck yet, but I'm gonna kick it around some more.
